Cervical Cancer, Breast Cancer & Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Camp Held at St. Mary's School, Vadodara

A large group of school girls in Vadodara received important health education on cervical cancer, breast cancer, and menstrual hygiene at an awareness camp organised at St. Mary's School, Gorwa.

Cervical Cancer, Breast Cancer & Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Camp at St. Mary's School, Vadodara

A meaningful health awareness camp was recently held at St. Mary's School, Gorwa, Vadodara, reaching a large number of young school girls with important information about women's health.

The camp was jointly organised by Shri Shakti Charitable Trust and Aneeba Hospital. A huge number of girl students attended the event and gained useful knowledge about topics that are often not discussed openly.

What Was Covered at the Camp?

The awareness session focused on three important areas of women's health:

  • Cervical Cancer – Girls learned about what cervical cancer is, how it can develop, and the importance of early screening and vaccination for prevention.
  • Breast Cancer – Students were made aware of the early signs to watch out for and why timely medical check-ups matter.
  • Menstrual Hygiene – A major focus of the camp was educating young girls about maintaining proper hygiene during menstruation, which is key to staying healthy and preventing infections.

Why These Topics Matter

Cervical and breast cancers are among the most common cancers affecting women in India. When caught early, there is a much better chance of managing them effectively. Similarly, poor menstrual hygiene is a common but preventable cause of infections, especially among young girls.

Bringing this education directly into schools ensures that girls receive accurate, helpful information at the right age — when it can make a real difference in their health habits and future well-being.

Special Thanks

A special note of thanks was extended to Unnati Desai and Dr. Dolly Ramani for their efforts in making the camp a success.

Events like these remind us how community outreach and health education can go a long way in empowering women and girls. If you have any concerns about women's health, cervical or breast health, please consult a qualified doctor or book a consultation for personalised guidance.
