In 2023, Dr. Nikhila Pachani attended AICT–AsiaPCR in Singapore, one of the most respected live-case interventional cardiology meetings in the Asia-Pacific region. The course brings together operators from across Asia, Europe, and North America for shared learning on complex coronary intervention.
Focus areas covered
The course covered chronic total occlusion (CTO) intervention, bifurcation lesions, left main coronary disease, calcified lesions requiring rotational atherectomy, and the latest evidence on imaging-guided PCI with IVUS and OCT. Live cases from world-class operators in Singapore and Korea provided technique-level detail not available from textbooks alone.
Bringing it back to Saurashtra
Many of the techniques and decision frameworks demonstrated at AICT–AsiaPCR are directly applicable to the complex cases Dr. Nikhila handles at Backbone Medicity, Rajkot — particularly the CTO and complex PCI cases that previously required referral to metro-city centres.
